Resident Testimonials
Mom loves the people here. Mom has made wonderful friends and The Rivers creates an environment where residents are very easy to meet. She has a very important supportive network here. Her social contacts have played a huge part in the success of her senior years. Engagement with the seniors here has very much enriched her life.
We walked into a cozy warm, lovely environment at The Rivers; it felt like home. The transition for mom to move from another senior community was very easy. The paperwork was simple. Her husband had never felt invited and included in her previous location. Here, he was welcomed immediately. It was good for them as a couple-they both made friends. I have only accolades for this place and the people.
We looked at four facilities. The main thing that attracted us to The Rivers was all of the activities my mother could attend. In our previous facility they had 2-3 activities a week. The Rivers has close to 70 a week and mom has a great selection to choose from. The facility is beautiful and the residents are very friendly. I had a good conversation with the kitchen manager about mom’s meals. All of the staff is so helpful here.
The entire staff was awesome! I find everyone to be very dedicated and professional in treating residents and family members with integrity, respect and kindness.
The Season Restaurant is lovely and food is always delicious! Their Chef team does a great job. There are many selections to choose from during a given week, and it is nice that the weekly menu is posted so everyone can see what is being served.
Five years ago when it came time to move into a senior residence, Mom chose The Rivers in Burnsville. What a great choice it turned out to be. We would like to thank the staff and residents who were the reason Mom was so content. We even talked about how they chose residents and staff and figured they must have to pass a niceness test first before moving in.
Proud History
The Rivers opened in 1999 on land previously owned by The River Hills United Methodist Church. In 2016 The Rivers joined the Transforming Age family of communities and officially became a not for profit organization.
