Transforming Age Announces Vaccination Requirement

BELLEVUE, Wash. – August 19, 2021 – Transforming Age and its affiliates announced that they will require all employees to be vaccinated for COVID-19 by Friday, October 15.
“Throughout the pandemic, Transforming Age and our affiliates have gone through great lengths in the effort to keep team members, residents, clients, family members, and other partners safe and healthy,” said Transforming Age President & CEO, Torsten Hirche. “Getting vaccinated is the most effective way to prevent COVID-19 infections, keep all of us safe and do our part to end this pandemic.”

Recent spikes in COVID-19 infections caused by the highly contagious Delta variant and safeguarding the health of their senior residents were a major factor in the new policy. “We worked really hard with our community partners and local health organizations to get our residents vaccinated,” said Hirche. “We’re now taking the next step in this process by requiring our team members to be vaccinated.”

Vaccination requirements are one of the many ways Transforming Age has had to adapt during the pandemic. “The pandemic has tested us in so many ways. From daily operations in our communities, to in-home care, the way we support our residents, to how we communicate, we’ve had to rethink everything we do,” said Hirche. “I couldn’t be prouder of the team and everyone’s dedication and hard work.”
