Dear Vashon Friends,

I am sharing a memo that I sent to families of residents following two rounds of testing for Covid 19. I wanted to be sure that you, our supporters, are up to date on the results as well. Here is the memo:

Under the guidance of King County Public Health, I am pleased to announce our second round of testing revealed 100 % negative results for both residents and staff.

Following the directive from Public Health for Seattle and King County we retested all staff and residents a second time on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. The resident who presented asymptomatic positive test from June 30 was retested at the seven day mark and again 24 hours later and both resulted in negative tests. We are thrilled and so thankful for these results.

Thank you to our heroic team members! This team has been uncompromising in their efforts to reduce our community’s exposure while courageously working to keep residents safe. This team serves with dignity and grace and continues to find creative ways to bring smiles and joy to our residents.

We still remain in full quarantine until we receive further direction from the Department of Health, meaning no campus visitors, group activities, or communal dining. I will keep you posted as that changes.
Several agencies in the state of Washington are working hard to push for safe openings soon and we hope to have announcements on what that could look like in the very near future.

Thank you for your continued support and your trust in the care that VCC provides.
Please continue to diligently social distance, wear your mask, and frequently wash your hands.

We will get through this together and we are Vashon Strong!
