Give the Gift of Your Time and Talents at VCC!

At Vashon Community Care we celebrate that “every moment is an opportunity for an extraordinary experience.” There are countless volunteer opportunities here for all ages. We invite you to spend some quality time at VCC with our dear residents. Last year, more than 150 volunteers donated 2,500 hours of precious time to VCC. Their efforts are all truly priceless to our residents and dedicated staff. Also keep in mind that current high school students are eligible to complete their community service hours required for graduation with us at VCC! Our seniors love spending time with the Island’s youth population. We appreciate all of you!

Meet Our Volunteers

Roger Taylor
Roger plays music to our residents twice monthly via Zoom

It’s a gift to have a facility like VCC on our island.  In some ways, it feels like a luxury for a community as small as ours. It’s a wonderful thing for Vashon residents so they don’t have to leave.

My connection to VCC is about my own grandparents and what grandparents mean. And, I have a soft spot in my heart for them. I want to offer something to those older folks, so twice a month I Zoom in to VCC and play music for the residents.

The staff is really wonderful.  The care, attention and warmth they show the residents is really touching. And, I’ve had some amazing moments with people whose eyes were closed, who seemed incapable of speaking, but I’d look over and see their foot tapping.  It’s been great.
